I’ve waited for this day for years!

I just had the pleasure of using the new USAirways.com, which technically, is still a beta website. Both the old and new versions of the website will still be on for a few more months, as select customers will test the new site’s functionality. If the new website generates an error, you can still head back to the older version to try to complete your task. Good planning and thinking on US Airways’ part.

Personally, I find the new site catchy and easy on the eyes, but at the same time, well organized. While the site is slow, I’ve found a lot of the added features beneficial and time saving for customers.

I understand this is for select users, but I’ve included a link that “might” allow you to preview the new site for yourself, https://membership.usairways.com/Manage/AccountSummary.aspx. Try it in FireFox before Internet Explorer! That did the trick for me.

All of the reseravtions I made over the phone and on other websites, I was able to see after logging in. If I were to be too lazy to log in, I could still acess my PNRs by inputing my flight number or dividend miles number and last name without having to remember the PNR.

The award booking calendar is well organized and it took just one search to find saver Envoy tickets to TLV (Tel Aviv, Israel) using my Dividend Miles.

The homepage lets me do the four basic things (book flights, check-in, manage reservations and check flight status) without having to use links for more options.

I don’t have photoshop on my Dell Mini 9, so you’ll have to wait before I get back from my trip to see some screenshots. Who knows, maybe by then you’ll get to see the site for yourself!

Have a nice clicK life,

I’m not sure if this is highly classified information or not, but the old (current) and new (think: still hidden) USAirways.com have different Club membership promotions. If you’re thinking of taking advantage of one of the offers, I highly suggest you print out a page detailing the promo rules and its expiration date.

The old website shows (can view this here):

Offers/promotions

3,000 Preferred-qualifying miles* for new Club members

New Club members receive 3,000 Preferred-qualifying miles when you buy an annual Club membership between May 6, 2008 and March 31, 2009*. Use promo code NCM3K when you enroll online or call 800-828-8522 to enroll by phone. Read terms & conditions below.

Enroll online

Renew your membership & get 500 Preferred-qualifying miles

Be sure to use your Dividend Miles number and promo code DR500 when you enroll.

Enroll online

The new website shows (can view this here):

New Club members, pick your offer:

2 months free* for new Club members

We’re giving you an additional two months for free when you buy an annual membership online between March 1, 2009 and April 30, 2009. Enroll online and use promotion code EXT2.

Or:

3,000 Preferred-qualifying miles* for new Club members

Earn 3,000 Preferred-qualifying miles when you buy an annual membership by March 31, 2009. Enroll online and use promo code NCM3K or call 800-828-8522 to enroll by phone.

Enroll online

My Club membership just expired at midnight, and since I”m not flying for another 3 weeks I’m going to wait until just before my flights to re-new as that will push back my Club membership expiration date in 2010, so I will definitely want to get my 500 Preferred Qualifying Miles! The promotions rules at the bottom of the page show that the offer expires on March 31, 2009, but what if they replace the old website with the new version before they the promotion expires. Will they remember to update it on the new site…? That’s why I advise those who wish to act on this offer, but want to wait a few more weeks to print this ASAP, as proof, of course!

Have a nice clicK life,

It’s almost hidden to the public eye, yet if you dig deep enough, you will find one link on the old website that will connect you with part of the new US Airways website. Many of us have waited anxiously for the new USAirways.com which was supposed to debut in early 2008, but has been pushed back to late Winter/ early Spring 2009. Even though it was first tested in Spring/Summer of 2007, US Airways is making us wait a while. Worth the wait? All signs point in that direction, and while this sneek preview won’t let you book tickets, check schedules or login to your Dividend Miles account, you can decide yourself by viewing all the informational content. In my opinion, the new website is well organized and very appealing to the eye. I will go as far to say- this is one of the best looking airline websites out there.

Start exploring by finding the banner pictured below. To find this banner visit the baggage section on the old US Airways website, pretend you want to track your bag, and select the 10 or more characters option. This is essentially the same as http://baggage.usairways.com/. That is how you find this banner, and once you found it, you will have to click it. That is your doorway to the new USAirways.com

There’s a lot of content to sift through, so I’ll let you explore on your own.

Some highlights which I found interesting/important:

Detailed upgrade policy

Option of buying Club day passes online

Easy access to international editions of USAirways.com

A redone route map (showcasing all possible connections including Star Alliance + codeshare services)

US Airways fleet page now shows the Airbus A330-200 and A350 with seat count (however sketch of plane is innacurate for A350)

If you find anything else that’s interesting, make sure to leave a comment and include a link. Thanks!

Have a nice clicK life,
